Do you know what is so very alarming about our state aid the so-called state overseeing Dumont's finances?
This State Department of Community Affairs is the very same state department that McHale and his political county boss allegedly met with in 2004. Our community was slapped in our face with a mere $25,000 in state aid. Even the press editorials called it an outrageous insult!
Do you remember that? Every resident was asked to call, write, fax or email Governor McGreevy in protest and to ask why. As too many residents came to know, the Governor's office shut down their fax, emails mysteriously did not get through, and the phones were not answered.
Shortly thereafter, McGreevy resigned. It was certainly hoped that there would have been some light shed upon the political relationships that may have led to that insult in the former Governor's book.
This is also the very same department that so freely gave Dumont our state aid when the Democrats took total control in 2005.
A big if, but if, our town had unpaid bills of $1.4 million, the $1.6 million received in state aid clearly covered it. Why then has our budget exploded from $13 million in 2004 to a whopping $18 million in 2007? Why have over taxes gone up an outrageous 50% in the last 3 years alone?
Take a look inside Borough Hall and its various departments. The truth appears more so in the fact that Dumont has become the epicenter or county wheel of Democratic pay to play politics. Their political contributors and NON-RESIDENT friends have been rewarded with jobs that never existed along with astronomical pay increases and extremely lucrative contracts. Pushing their shameless pay to play to no end, their players bilk our taxpayers who then return monstrous dollars to their Democrat campaign coffers.
Rather than
"who was over-seeing who?"
the question should be
"who was working with who?"
