From the Bergen Record on July 18, 2008 ...
"The U.S. Attorney’s Office subpoenaed documents this week related to the Paramus Affordable Housing Corp., sources said today.
Keith Furlong, a spokesman for the borough of Paramus, confirmed a subpoena had been received, but he declined to discuss its contents.
According to 2007 tax records, Mayor James Tedesco is the president of the non-profit, which has assets worth about $2.4 million. William Katchen, who once served as director of the Edgewater Municipal Utility Authority, is the non-profit’s accountant.
The subpoena comes days after news of subpoenas being delivered to the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission and Vision Media Marketing, a public relations firm that has a contract with the commission.
The subpoenas to the commission and Vision Media sought information about Bergen County Democratic Organization Chairman Joseph Ferriero and SVC Consulting LLC, a consulting firm he established.
Since May, the U.S. Attorney’s Office has distributed subpoenas throughout Bergen County. Many requested information relating to Dennis Oury, the BCDO counsel and the former Paramus borough attorney.
Tax records reveal that the Paramus Affordable Housing Corporation owns at least 25 properties, some of which are located just west of Garden State Plaza."
