"The federal investigation that snared the mayors of Ridgefield, Secaucus and Hoboken uncovered a familiar pattern of corrupt N.J. public officials willing to sell their offices for cash and greedy businessmen eager to launder dirty money, authorities said Thursday". Bergen Record, July 23, 2009
In what is being called "Black Thursday", or a day in which one of the largest corruption roundups ever in a state took place, one of the Dumont Democrats appointed professionals was among those arrested - the mayor of Ridgefield, Anthony Suarez. Suarez is alledged to have taken money from a developer in return for supporting a project in Ridgefield. Suarez was appointed earlier this year by the Dumont Democrats to serve as Dumont's Rent Levelling Attorney.
Since Suarez's arrest:
-
On August 3, 2009, Governor Corzine "If officials under this cloud refuse to do the responsible thing and resign, then we must take action to protect responsible government and the best interests of taxpayers.”
-
Suarez lost his jobs in Saddle Brook and Fort Lee where he held public jobs.
-
A recall effort is underway in Ridgefield since Suarez will not resign.
IN DUMONT, HOWEVER ...
NOTHING BUT SILENCE,
TOTAL SILENCE
FROM DUMONT'S DEMOCRATS !!!
WEREN'T THEY JUST AS SILENT DURING THE ENTIRE PUBLIC OUTRAGE CALLING FOR THE RESIGNATION OF THEIR INDICTED AND ARRESTED POLITICAL BOSS JOE FERRIERO ???
