Adding yet another lie to the Dumont Democrats' growing list from unpaid bills to fiscal mismanagement, they claim that the prior administration left them with no budget surplus.

    They even had the audacity to state and take credit in 2007 that they were able to restore a surplus to the town's operating budget.

    Facts are, Dumont has always operated with a surplus.  These facts are some of the very reasons why the prior administration was able to keep our taxes stable from 1989 through 2003 - an unprecedented 15 year achievement.  Mayor McHale and his Democratic Council have raised our taxes almost 50% in just 3 years alone.
