Buried obscurely within a Mayor and Council Meeting Agenda was Resolution 09-40.  This Resolution was unanimously passed by Dumont's All-Democratic Governing Body.  It authorized the appointment of

Public Strategies Impact

LOOK WHAT HAS HAPPENED ...

  • Dumont Democrats Appointed Governmental Grants Consulting, GGC,  in 2005 following an email from Mayor McHale to Boss Ferriero and then Ferriero back to McHale. 
  • Remember,
    •  Ferriero was Chairman of the Bergen County Democratic Organization. 
    •  McHale is the full-time, paid Executive Director for the Bergen County Democratic Organization.
  • Ferriero, owner of GGC, was arrested on Federal corruption charges .       
  • Ferriero's partner in GGC, Dennis Oury,  is also arrested.
  • Dennis Oury was Legal Counsel to the Bergen County Democratic Organization.

                                         

  • Oury pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
  • Oury testifies against Ferriero during his trial.
  • Federal subpoenas served on Dumont are presented as evidence against Ferriero during his corruption trial. 
  • Ferriero is found guilty by the jury and is now a convicted felon awaiting sentence.
  • A Dumont Board Attorney, Suarez, appointed by Dumont's Democrats, is also arrested of Federal corruption charges for allegedly taking bribe money from a developer. 

 BURIED DEEP FROM PUBLIC VIEW ...

  • Dumont also appointed a firm called Public Strategies Impact in January of 2009.
  • Dumont is paying Public Strategies Impact A YEARLY AMOUNT THAT IS MORE THAN MOST PEOPLE IN DUMONT MAKE IN A YEAR.
  • Public Strategies Impact is supposed to deliver monthly service reports to the borough which should be available for public inspection.

HOWEVER ...

  • NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE !
  • NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT THEY DO !
  • NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE SEEN OR READ ONE SINGLE REPORT ON ANYTHING THAT THEY HAVE DONE FOR DUMONT !

BUT, LOOKIE, LOOKIE ...

WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT PUBLIC STRATEGIES IMPACT IS NONE OTHER THAN THE FIRM OF THE SPOKESMAN FOR THE BERGEN COUNTY DEMOCRATIC ORGANIZATION, BILL MAIER.

If the name looks familiar, it should.  Bill Maier is the person that provides his county and local Democrats with media quotes and responses when ALL OF THEM HIDE FROM THE PRESS AND REFUSE TO SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
