Remember when the Democrats first claimed that "outstanding bills" were $1.7 million in 2005?  Well, look at the bottom line number to your right. 

    Their own "special commissioned audit" proves, there were absolutely no unpaid bills for any year prior to 2003.  What the numbers do show is that $496,665 worth of 2003 bills were paid in January of 2004 as has been for decades.  To clarify, 12 months of bills were always charged to 12 months of the budget year (which in business, does not necessarily follow the calendar year).  Similarly, we pay our personal bills in January for charges that are often incurred in the month of December. 

     The Democrats' 2005 budget numbers also prove that the 2004 Democrat Finance Committee of McQuade, Grillo and Abrahamsen OVERSPENT their 2004 budget by $219,385.

      Apparently, the Democrats decided to cover themselves and subtract their 2004 budget over-run from their 2005 $1.7 million dollar increase shown by their own document to the right.  Then, as desperation set in, they decided to mis-claim that the prior administration had unpaid bills of $1.4 million dollars (which, incidentally, is not even 10% of our town's budget).  The figures to their 2005 "Summary of Budget Increases" clearly show that this number also includes:

•  ALL of the 2005 budget increases

•  The 2004 expenses that they failed to properly address

•  PLUS the costs of the property re-evaluation.

     Their own numbers prove that they have blatantly lied, and continue to lie, when they claim fiscal mismanagement and "unpaid bills" on the part of the prior administration.  On February 3, 2005, Councilman McQuade said in the press "he found past due payments for United Water".  Guess what???  The very same article quoted a spokesman from United Water saying "it has not had any real problem with bill payments from the borough".

THE DEMOCRATS LIES IN BLAMING OTHERS HAVE BEEN SO DESPERATE THAT THEY CAN NOT EVEN REMEMBER HOW MUCH TO BLAME OTHERS FOR.  IN THEIR OWN SELF-SERVING REPORTS , THEY HAVE USED $1.7 MILLION, $1.4 MILLION, $1 MILLION, OVER $1 MILLION...
