Have you taken notice of our two-faced Mayor.  Either McHale does not remember what he says from month to month or he simply does not care.  How stupid does he think the people of Dumont are???

     Councilman Abrahamsen's son applied for a job as a Dumont Police office last Fall.

HISTORY OF COINCIDENCES:

1.      Councilman Abrahamsen was the Police Commissioner last Fall.

2.      Abrahamsen traded his Police Commissioner position with another     Council member.  Was it purely coincidental?  Obviously by their actions, they began to jockey back then toward making his son a police officer and hope to slip him in without any criticism. 

3.      When their actions were made public, it was reported that Mayor McHale claimed it was no longer an issue because the family member did not rank well at all in the applicant standings. 

4.      Councilman Abrahamsen resigns.

5.      Bergen Record on June 24, 2008,  just 6 short months later after McHale's statement "the family member did not rank well at all in the applicant standings", is all of a sudden ...                               "Eric Abrahamsen Jr., 26, was among the crop of recruits approved by the council last week — roughly four months after the resignation of his father, Councilman Eric Abrahamsen.   The councilman cited the ailing health of his father as the reason for his departure, which came just as the council signed off on a new anti-nepotism ordinance that banned the hiring of elected officials' relatives.  All of [the hirings] are 100 percent rock-solid in compliance with our ethics and anti-nepotism laws," Mayor Matt McHale said of the new recruits".     REALLY !!!!!!!!

6.        How quickly McHale forgot what he said just 6 months earlier. 

QUESTION ? How can a candidate go from being in the the bottom of a large list to all of a sudden being in the top?   Most would say that is statistically impossible!

 Shame, shame, shame on Councilman Abrahamsen. 

 

But Hey, the story does not stop there..... he is still paid by our tax dollars at the political patronage mill at Bergen County Utilities Authority and now he has his son who who will soon be making over $100,000 a year.  By the way, didn't he use his influence to get his daughter a job as a Dumont school teacher?  Now, all of this is really raking in the Dumont tax dollars ...

          

      In this same article on the hiring of another police officer, McHale was quoted that he "spent several years as a dispatcher for the borough". Did McHale suddenly forget that he appointed this person as a police dispatcher only 5 months ago on January 3, 2008 ???????
